Struzzi Announces Education Funds for Burrell Township Library
November 12, 2020
HARRISBURG – State Rep. Jim Struzzi (R-Indiana) today announced that the Pennsylvania Department of Education (PDE) has allocated $229,000 for the construction of a new facility at the Burrell Township Library through the Keystone Recreation, Park and Conservation Fund. These funds will aid the library in installing equipment, upgrading security systems and more, in addition to helping construct the new facility.
“I’m thrilled to see these funds going to Burrell Township and other public libraries across Pennsylvania. These libraries provide invaluable enrichment to our community through both recreational and educational opportunities,” said Struzzi. “The library’s new facilities will allow them to enhance those existing opportunities as well as expand to provide new ones.”
The Keystone Recreation, Park and Conservation Fund was established by an act of the General Assembly in 1993. PDE, through the Office of Commonwealth Libraries, Bureau of Library Development, administers the public library portion of this program which is funded from a portion of realty transfer taxes.
