With the PASSHE (Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education) Board of Governors’ Wednesday morning vote to approve the system redesign, and the 60-day public comment period about to begin, I believe it is important for the people of Indiana County to fully understand this proposal and its impacts on Indiana University of Pennsylvania (IUP). First, I need to be clear that the proposed retrenchments and furloughs at IUP are not the result of the system redesign as many have been led to believe. Rather, they are due to a separate effort by the Board of Governors and Chancellor Dan Greenstein to develop a financial sustainability plan.

Struzzi Reappointed to PENNVEST Board

HARRISBURG – At the request of Speaker of the House Bryan Cutler, state Rep. Jim Struzzi (R-Indiana) has accepted an appointment to the Pennsylvania Infrastructure Investment Authority (PENNVEST) for the 2021-22 Legislative Session. Committee Passes Struzzi Resolution to Formally Oppose RGGI

Struzzi Announces Over $170,000 in School Safety Funding to Area School Districts

HARRISBURG – State Rep. Jim Struzzi (R-Indiana) today announced that school districts in the 62nd Legislative District have been awarded $171,834 in Safe Schools Target Grants, administered by the Pennsylvania Department of Education (PDE). Grants are awarded to schools to prevent and reduce violent incidents, to purchase safety and security-related equipment, and to provide for the training and compensation of school resource and police officers.

Struzzi Announces Education Funds for Burrell Township Library
