Plans to Replace Coral Post Office Finalized, Says Struzzi

September 28, 2021

HARRISBURG – Five years after being destroyed in a fire, the Coral Post Office in Center Township will finally be replaced, according to state Rep. Jim Struzzi (R-Indiana).

“The patience of the residents who have been inconvenienced by this has to be applauded,” Struzzi said. “It was great to hear from Congressman Glenn Thompson’s office this morning and be able to convey the news to everyone who has been traveling to Homer City to pick up their mail.”

The new facility is scheduled for completion in early January of next year at 437 First Ave. on a property being leased from the Coral-Graceton Volunteer Fire Department. It will replace the 627 First Ave. post office that was leveled as the result of a March, 2016 fire which was intentionally set, and will provide similar counter-based service for a few hours a day with postal customers having around-the-clock access to their PO box.

“The persistence of the Center Township Board of Supervisors in the last few months is the reason this project is finally approaching the finish line,” added Struzzi. “They deserve a great deal of credit.”

Questions about this or any legislative issue should be directed to Struzzi’s Indiana district office at 1-724-465-0220.
