HARRISBURG – State Rep. Jim Struzzi (R-Indiana), who serves as the House Republican representative on the Pennsylvania Infrastructure Investment Authority (PENNVEST) board, announced today 33 projects approved by the board providing $216 million in financial assistance across the Commonwealth for drinking water, wastewater, stormwater and non-point source projects. Of that, $145 million is provided in the form of low-interest loans to municipal authorities, the other $71 million in the form of grants.

“Local governments, facility operators and authorities across the Commonwealth are working hard to provide clean drinking water, optimize wastewater systems, replace lead service lines and more,” shared Struzzi. “PENNVEST helps our local communities with crucial funding to protect public health and to ensure a healthy environment.”

Funding for these projects originates from state and federal funds and is approved by the PENNVEST board. The next round of funding will be open for application from now until Oct. 30, ahead of the Jan. 22 voting meeting of the board. More information on applying for PENNVEST funding and completing the application can be found at pa.gov/en/agencies/pennvest/apply-online.html.

PENNVEST has been operating for over three decades to benefit the health and safety of Pennsylvania citizens, economic development, and improving the environment and water quality. Funding is available for construction and design, engineering, and permitting of wastewater, drinking water, stormwater, and non-point source pollution projects. Information about the PENNVEST board can be found at pa.gov/en/agencies/pennvest/about-us.html.

Questions about this round of PENNVEST funding or interest in applying for the next round may be directed to the PENNVEST board at 717-787-8137 or Struzzi’s Indiana office at 724-465-0220.
