Struzzi’s Dairy Resolution Passed by House Agriculture and Rural Affairs Committee
June 18, 2019
HARRISBURG – Rep. Jim Struzzi (R-Indiana) today announced that his resolution, House Resolution 402, has been passed by the House Agriculture and Rural Affairs Committee.
This resolution would recognize the value and health properties of whole milk, and the importance whole milk plays in children’s physical growth. It would also support U.S. Congressman GT Thompson’s federal legislation, Whole Milk for Healthy Kids.
“Milk consumption in schools has dramatically declined because children aren’t consuming the low-fat and fat-free milk currently made available to them in school. They simply don’t like these limited options that cause them to miss out on the important nutrients that whole milk provides,” said Struzzi. “It is my hope that this resolution will help to once again provide milk with school meals and revitalize our struggling dairy industry in Pennsylvania.”
The resolution is now before the House for consideration.
