House Votes to Provide Tuition Assistance to Volunteer First Responders

HARRISBURG – Rep. James Struzzi (R-Indiana) today announced that the House of Representatives has unanimously voted to advance his bill, House Bill 1773, which would establish the Tuition Assistance for Active Volunteers Program. This program would provide tuition assistance to active members of a volunteer fire company or emergency medical services agency who attend an approved institution of higher learning.

Struzzi, Pittman Opposed to Governor’s Executive Order

HARRISBURG – On Thursday, Oct. 3, the governor issued an executive order directing the Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) to commence Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative (RGGI) regulations. Rep. Jim Struzzi (R-Indiana) and Sen. Joe Pittman (R-Armstrong/Butler/Indiana/Westmoreland) have expressed their strong opposition to the governor’s decision, citing economic reasons.

Jim Struzzi (R-Indiana) today announced that he has introduced legislation, House Bill 1804, which would reform the standards used for the Small and Disadvantaged Business Program (SDB) under the Department of General Services (DGS). This program provides small and disadvantaged businesses with specialized considerations, including alternative bonding and progress payments, access to business assistance offices within agencies, and targeted outreach by procurement officials.

Struzzi to Host Hearing on First Responder Tuition Assistance Bill

Struzzi Hosting Informational REAL ID Event in District

62nd District to Receive Over $235,000 from Marcellus Shale Impact Fees, Struzzi Says

HARRISBURG – Rep. Jim Struzzi (R-Indiana) today announced that municipalities in the 62nd District will receive $237,731.80 from the 2019 distribution of the Act 13 unconventional natural gas impact fees, otherwise known as Pennsylvania’s unconventional natural gas drilling tax. These fees are taken from revenue from natural gas drilling activities in the Marcellus Shale. Distribution of revenue will take place on or before July 1.

House Approves Struzzi Resolution Supporting Whole Milk in Schools

Struzzi Health Care Legislation Passes House

Jim Struzzi (R-Indiana), which would direct the Joint State Government Commission to study the impact of behavioral health treatment needs, and behavioral health care system capacity, on hospital emergency departments and patient health. Currently, no such study exists.
